Gary's daughter Kim was in town seeing her two boys, Gage and Bentley, so they invited us to go bowling. Gage is 12 and Bentley is 10.

...Deano's first gift to me. Dean was so excited to give me a gift and was trying to give me clues on what it was before he finished it at school. Today he brought it home and told me not to tear the paper he printed on.

He is so funny the first thing he does when he comes home is takes off all his school clothe's and runs around in just his pants.

Lone Peak Knights 2011

Wyatt played 1st grade football this fall. His team was the UCFC champions. They had wonderful Coaches. I was impressed with how well they coached the kids, it was not harsh or aggressive, it was constructive and positive. Wyatt practiced 4 days a week for 3 months and it showed they would crush all the teams. Wyatt would just be glowing after most of the million degree practices. Wyatt didn't care for the games as much. I think it was because he was head to head with giants. Most of the kids he went up against were at least a foot or more taller than him. I think he did great for his first year. Wyatt says there is no way he will play next year but we will see.

Our friend Mandy Lee Taylor took our family photos this fall. I love what she did. Mandy took all of these plus more in under an hour and half, which makes Paul so happy. I love the one of my in-laws. The photo under here, if you look really well you can see Wyatt giving me bunny ears and then she got me catching him. I keep her blog linked up on the sidebar so look at it every once and while, She does great work.

Our Rock'in Weekend

We went to the middle of no where and had a rock'in time... Delta Utah. Delta is located in Millard County if you don't know where that is it 109 miles south west from my home in Utah county. http://millardcountytravel.com/ They have all the scoop for all of the fun things we did and much more. We really didn't know much about Delta other than you can go fossil hunting for trilobites. The morning before we left we had two rough planned vacations Delta or Goblin valley near Moab Ut. I saw on the news that Delta was two degrees warmer than Moab. I thought of all the people heading down to Moab for the UEA break and made up my mind middle of no where sounded funner. I called my Mom and she told me she went to Delta a lot as kids, her grandmother lived there. She also told me about Lehman Caves. So we had two things we would like to do for our two and half days.

I would like to tell you all the fun things we did and the things we should have done differently so if the middle of no where sounds fun than you can try it.

We have a new camping trailer we just got. So I looked up RV sites on line and that looked good. http://antelopevalleyrvpark.com/ We pulled up to the RV park and it was nice like the photos, very clean with big trees. We liked it but it wasn't very campy no picknick tables or fire pits which we are used to. It had a big grassy area that we had races on. We would have had a blast, if I would have remembered a ball or something, the one thing I forgot. We didn't use any of the extras like laundry and restrooms with showers, TV, wi-fi, and Rec. Hall. We really just used the full hook-up and our pad of grass. I don't think they do tents there just so you know.
On your way out of town we saw this tree. I don't know why shoes are up in this tree but It was a cool photo to share. Friday the same day we got to delta we went Trilobite hunting with http://www.u-digfossils.com/ We first went to their rock shop just off of Main and got the map to find the quarry that is just behind us in the photo. It was a good half hour west of Delta. It was easy to find. For a fee they had tools for you, all you have to bring is the family. If we were to do it again, I think we would have brought safety or sunglasses for everyone, pants and maybe work gloves. We were the last ones up there. The old guys that work the place were really nice to us, giving the kids extra trilobites, rocks, bags, water bottles and they gave Razor like 10 dog treats. We found probably 25 good fossils to take home. It was great, Paul would have wanted to go back the next day if you didn't need to pay another fee, I think Paul said it was a bit over sixty dollars for two hours.

The rock shop in town was the best of two shops we went to. They were cheap and they had cool things for Utah and other places. I would recommend going to this shop its 350 E. 300 S., Delta. The lady inside gave us a great deal on rock and told us about Geode hunting (Paul's next trip) and gave the kids a few rocks.

Delta has great playgrounds, we saw three or more. I wish our town we live in would build parks like the ones in the middle of no where. With little kids and all the driving we did we had to stop and play a few times. I should have taken more photos, sorry.

Saturday morning we went to the Great Basin Museum. If you are passing through Delta you should stop. They are in a little place off Main Street for now but I saw a sign that they are building a new museum on Main. They feature exhibits of west Millard county's history, geologic specimens, fossil, and artifacts of early human occupation, early settlers. They have a whole exhibit of the WWII Topaz Relocation Center. if you have never heard of such a place it's a camp that held American Japanese people from San Francisco during WWII. The coolest thing for us was the lady showed us glowing rocks. They collected rocks from the area and put them under two different black lights and the rocks really glow. I wished I would have taken a picture of them it was really cool. Wyatt now wants to get a black light and look for glowing rocks.

She looks so innocent but she really wants to jump the rope. I had to pull her out two times.
Last but not least Lehman Caves in Great Basin National Park. It is one hour and forty five minutes from Delta. As we drove out to the caves Paul said "this better be good." They were great. I didn't know you could get reservations the day before you want to go, it would have saved us an hour wait after the long drive out there. This cave has no hike to it at all, just right outside the visitor center. We live 15 minutes or less under Timpanogos cave but it's a steep hike up to the cave. I don't think will be doing it for a few years until all the kids can hike it themselves. Anyway back to Lehman caves it was a 60 minute tour on a path with a few stairs. Wow Lehman caves is decorated by massive stalactites, stalagmites and columns, and very thin hollow tubes that hang from the ceiling. Draperies, cave bacon, and a unique structure called shields. My kids really liked it and impressed the guide by naming the stalactites and mites. If I were to go again I would call a head to get a time. You can call (775) 234-7331 ext. 242. and lastly I would have brought a flashlight for everyone. The cave is lite but to see the details would have been cool.

This last photo is in the cave near the exit. Over a hundred years ago, people would start through this cave coming down on ropes and would have to crawl out on their bellies. They would sign their names to say they did it and they were there. My family and I could not sign the wall or even touch it but we where there, and we did it. We had a blast.

Hopefully someday you can go out in the middle of no where too.

Last week we all went with Dad hunting. Paul went hunting and we just camped. We went up past Strawberry Reservoir, clear up in the mountains. Where there is no bathrooms, no water nothing other than trees, dirt, and wild life. We got there near dark, so Paul helped me get the tent up and left us to set up the rest. Wyatt and Dean helped me jump on the beds as I made them.

When Paul got back to camp we were all ready for bed. I asked Paul if he saw anything, He said "I saw a monster elk". Wyatt's eyes got huge and asked his dad if it was a real monster. Going to bed in a cold tent wasn't as easy as we wished it would have been. Wyatt and Dean kept bouncing around on the beds. So we turned out the lantern, then Dean lost it. He cried and cried until he threw up in the tent. Even after we got the boys calmed down and a sleep they didn't sleep that well. So it was a long night for us. The next morning Paul left again really early to go out to try to slay an elk. We got up and ate breakfast then got back into our tent, it was cold.

Pauls 30th birthday was this week. I surprised him good. The night started with Dan and Dayna taking us out to dinner, when reality all of his friends and family were waiting for him at Texas Roadhouse. I was nervse that it wouldn't the surprise wouldn't work or they wouldn't sit us or Paul would be mad at me for doing it, Mostly worried I would spill the beans to Paul, I don't keep secrect very well. When Paul and I walked in they all yelled so loud it scared him. . It was really fun

Chuck Johnson

So this is my birth dad Charles Johnson. We had him over for dinner in July. This was our second time meeting him. He is really nice and loves the kids. A few days later we went up Nicole's home (my older half sister) and met the rest of Chuck's children. I kick myself that I didn't take a picture of all of them. In Chuck's 2nd marrige with Eloise they had 5 kids. Allison that is married to John they have a little boy Elliott, Jordan married to Kristina they have two boys, Ashton and Chase, Brady married to Meredith and they have a cute little girl named Jane, Lindsey and last but not least Riley. It was so great to meet them. They were all so nice.

These cute little angles are so silly together taking a nap. He was a sleep first and she jumped on. They were like this for most of their nap. These two have a strong bond. The other day Dean was throwing the biggest tantrum. When Dean losses it I have to hold him down in his room until he stops or he will hit and throw things. So this time it went on and on for like a half hour or so. Gracie was either not liking that he was upset or that I had to sit with Dean screaming. So Gracie was also freaking out. I was out numbered with two of the loudest kids. After they both calmed down. Wyatt walked up to me and said "Mom do you remember when I was an only child? Wasn't so nice? Don't you wish I still was the only child?" Some days I try really hard to think what it was like without any kids. It's like remembering a dream. I can only remember a little bit. But I think mine and Paul's life would have been boring. Work, eating in peace, movies, the gym, going to any and every store I want to. No really they are hard work but I would not trade these moments for anything.

Wasatch Mountain

We went camping this week for a few days up at Wasatch Mountain State Park. We fished at a little pond by the golf coarse. The boys came back to the trailer where Gracie and I were hanging out,Wyatt had a tiny little fish that was tasty. We scouted for deer and elk the first night. Then the next day we went to Cascade Springs and hiked around. There we saw a moose up close, fish, and birds. On the way back we looked on 40 different milk weeds, looking for butterfly eggs. No luck we had fun. In town Paul and the kids went and got cupcakes while I was in a cute quilt shop. The last night we had our Grammy and Grandpa Gary up for dinner since they lived 20 minutes away. One funny story that happen to us was the first night when we were out by the fire Wyatt and I heard a hissing sound. which made both Dean and Wyatt very nervous and they had to sit on our laps. As we were cleaning up I heard it again and asked for a light. Right by my foot was a big beetle hissing at Razor. Paul caught it in a cup and put it in the freezer for our friend bug collection. We told Grammy about it and tried to show her and she freaked out. We all had a laugh.

All the stuff to have some fun Jigglepuff Jello, Charizard Fire Puff, Mewtwo melon, Energy pieces, Squirtle Spit, Black and White Cupcakes. All for Black and White Pokemon. I couldn't find any Pokemon party invitations so I made my own then I found a web site that you can make your own Pokemon cards. I made each boy their own card with picture at the party. We bought a hundred Pokemon cards from Amazon for party favors. The boys traded and played games for an hour or so. Wyatt had all of his dreams come true. All of his friends over to play Pokemon, eat cake and open presents. What a fun day.

This Girl is crazy at 19 months what is she going to wear when she is 3 or 15? It makes me nervous. Gracie has 10 shirts and 7 shorts on, she has so many shirts on she can't put down her arms. All of cloths are from Deans closet. I think she looks allot like her brothers in boy cloths.

This summer we have been having fun. Games, legos, beat downs (wrestling), outside activities, watch movies in our camping chairs. I have had the boys write it all down in their summer journals. What's great is we still have lots more summer still to go.

This girl is fearless in the water. I think that's kind of a bad thing, I have to watch her like a hawk. I bought her this cute suit before she was born. Its 18 months size but I was thinking if I had had a chunky baby, she would have worn it at 10-14 months. But she is a bitty little thing at 19 months. So we are getting 2 summers out of it.

This cute boy was a crying mess the first day of swim lessons. He and I made a deal. I said " you have done this two times before, you know how it to do this. Your teacher is our neighbors. She won't let you go and drowned. If you can be happy the rest of the time you can do something fun after." Surprisingly Dean said "OK I can do that". The rest of the lessons have been so much better. He is learning and having fun doing it.

I think he is still a little unsure of the deeper water.

I saw a list of fun things to do in the summer time that's cheap. I read them off to the kids. One of the things is to make play dough. Wyatt bugged me for days until we made it. The boys picked out the color and it was way easier than I thought. I should have made it the first day. All it is:
2 cups flour,
1 cup salt,
3/4 cup water,
2 tablespoons cooking oil,
food coloring.
If you want to make a lot stock up on the salt. I was reading on another blog that they used Koolaid to make it smell better. You'll have to try it.

Snow Fun

On Monday it snowed the best Utah snow ever, the light and fluffy stuff. After Paul snowplowed we packed up the kids and went to Grandpa Gillespie's and used his 4 wheeler to pull a sled. I thought Wyatt wouldn't last long on the sled but he proved us wrong. He wouldn't get off even when his feet were up over his head. Wyatt held on for dear life. He had to land on his face before he would let go. That's him with the sad face.

Skiing

There is nothing funnier in January to do than go skiing with Grammy and Grandpa. Wyatt got to take his first ski lessons at Park City. He was super excited. He got to take the "Man Lift" as he called it, several times. On one of the runs the trainer had to allow him to go down to the lodge all by himself because some of the other students had fallen and Wyatt had passed them up. He said he didn't get scared he just found another trainer and stayed in place and waited for his trainer.

Dean got to go with Grandpa. He came down several times and within a couple of lessons was stopping by himself. He even made a few turns.

The second day of lessons. Jack came out to ski with his cousin. It was nonstop talking between the two of them of what to do and what not to do, where to go and where they haven't been. They both did wonderful on the two runs down the hill. Next year they will be out of control.
Gracie made an appearance with her new ski clothes and hat. She was a little too little to go on the boards.

Here Comes Santa

What's Christmas without having at least one child crying on Santa's lap. Actually Gracie loved Santa until she saw me backing away to take the picture and thought her Mom was leaving her.
We had to talk Wyatt into going and see Santa. Wyatt said to me "Mom you go and tell him what I want this year, OK." We had to tell him it doesn't work that way. So when we got up to Santa right away Wyatt starts OK I want this year, its kind of hard to explain but its a power Miner cage from Lego.
Santa said "so do you want to sit on my lap?"
Wyatt "ooh no, no, no."
Santa "OK do you want a candy cane?"
Wyatt "hum is it peppermint I don't like peppermint."
Santa was lost for words.
With Dean we all practiced before on what to say to Santa, but when it was his turn not really sitting on Santa's lap, he clamed up. Wyatt came to the rescue. It really didn't go like the other millions of kids that sit on Santa's lap every year. Somehow they got all of their wishes told to Santa and hopefully they will be good kids where they will get what they want.

Gracie had a great birthday. We invited all her aunts, uncles, cousins and many Grandparents. Almost everyone came we had 55 people. We had lots of cupcakes and ice cream. We had a pinata full of candy. Gracie got lots of gifts. I stored some of the presents away for Christmas.

We got a library card this month. I thought the kids would love to read new books. I was right. We had to pay $70 for an out of city fee for it, but my own city payed $40 back, thank goodness. The first week we got 8 books and one of them, somehow, ended up outside and got wet. I thought it was fine to take back but they caught me and made us buy the book. Paul was mad we ruined a book on our first week. I think it was a $4 learning experience. One more thing, the boys love having new books but when I say lets go to the library, they both whine about going, but they love being there, weird huh.

This is my 6 year old. He is such a cute boy but his teeth are killing me. He's at the age where he's losing his teeth pretty fast, but he doesn't like to pull them out, because he hates when they bleed. Wyatt will loosen them until they are dangling. I just don't know why he won't just yank them. I keep telling him we have to look at his gross teeth. So I took this picture to show him how gross it looks. Wyatt told me that was gross and not to show the whole world this photo, but oh well I am showing the world, sorry Wyatt.

Wyatt was really ready to start kindergarten. The first day of school he was his teacher's helper. He past out papers, scissors and ran a note to the office. He is the oldest and almost the biggest kid in his class. In his class there are 24 kids and only 4 girls. He has a few friends in his class Alex, Bobby, Tyson.

Deano loves going to Miss Gretel. He used to go play when I would help with Wyatt's class. So the first few days were a little hard for him having to learn, sing and work on his papers. Dean is a good boy in his class, he does his paper well. Some times he doesn't want to follow the color pattern. Dean just makes up his own but he does his work well

There were no tears from me. I was jumping for joy when these yahoos went to school. I had a list of things I was going to do when they were out of my hair. Well that is what I thought. I have signed up to help with both of the boys' class. So I am afraid I don't have as much time as I thought, just enough to go to the grocery store and clean a little.

With in the last month Gracie has not just learned how to crawl she races on her knees. I bought her a baby stroller that she walks behind and pushes it all over the place. She has two teeth. Gracie's says mama not dada which I love. She loves to play get into stuff. Everyone tell me they never see her cry, that she is so happy. You can see with these photos Gracie cry some times.

Randi is married..... it happened on August 7th 2010. On beautiful Fox Island near Seattle WA. We are so happy for Randi and Bryan. They are perfect for one another.

Wyatt 6th birthday

Wyatt's 6th birthday was a week long event this year. Grandma G came and took Wyatt to lunch, then to the pet store and bought him a fish, which he named Spinney. Then his Grammy bought him some fun toy which he got a week or two early. Then we had a small birthday party with a few friends and his favorite cousin Noah. The party was a few days before his real birthday because we had a family reunion to go to on his birthday. At the family reunion I made cupcakes and had more presents for Wyatt. Then a day after Grandma S brought him more gifts. Wow this kid is loved.
a funny story about Spinney. Grandma and Wyatt had just brought him home. We set up his fish bowl. They got the tree, rocks, and a boat you can barely see. Well Spinney was testing out the water and went into the boat then tryed to come out the window. He was so stuck! Grandma was like "is he OK he doesn't look good." Both Wyatt and I came to the rescue. I held on to the boat and Wyatt pulled him out. Safe to say, he made it through his first day with the Gillespies without see the toilet bowl.

Gracie is now 8 months old and she weights 15 pounds. That puts her in the 1%. My boys were 18 or so pounds. Gracie can pull herself up and let go for just a second, she is crawling all over the place. Gracie just cut her first tooth. She is a fun little baby. Dean can't get enough of her. He picks her up and carries her all around. Most of the time Gracie like it but some times he a bit to much.

Gracie started to make this face, which is so weird Wyatt did the same face about the same age.

We borrowed a friends camp trailer and took off for the weekend. Paul wanted to go to this little reservor called Lower Bowen just off the scenic byway 12. The countryside is so beautiful. We drove through cute little towns, one that we want to retire in call Teasedall. As we got off the byway we headed down a long dirt road. Paul yelled out "we just ran over a big old snake" so we ran it over again as we reversed to look at it, wow it was huge. After we got to the camp site, we quickly got things setup and went fishing. The reservor was so awesome it had sandy beaches for our boys to play in, while Paul and I fished. The weather was great. It looked like it was going to rain several times, but it never did.

Teeball 2010

Wyatt got to play Tee ball this year. We love this league Every game each team has 3 innings up to bat every player gets to hit in each inning. The rules for 3 outs don't apply but they are learning how to get kids out. so everyone is a winner. I think that bugs Wyatt a little. at first Wyatt would ask at the end of games who won. The coaches would say well we both did. Wyatt wasn't very happy with that but what do lie. Tee ball is really funny to watch kids trying to throw the ball to no one, kids tackling 3 others for the ball, or they are in their own world out in the outfield. I seen grass fights (by my own son) and dancing and the runners catching the ball and throwing it in (not by Wyatt). Who knows if Baseball is Wyatt's deal but he has had fun playing.

T Day

T Day stands for Tulips at the Temple. My Mom invited us up for a quick bite to eat and walking through the Temple grounds to see the absolutely beautiful flowers. Nobody does it better than this temple grounds. We had fun. We even found two headed tulips.

A lot can happen in one month for a baby. Gracie has been sitting up with no support since her 5 month mark. Gracie has been eating lots of baby food. At first I was a little worried Gracie hated rice cereal but now she eats fruits and sweet potatoes so fast that she gets mad, I'm not giving it to her fast enough. She gets so excited when Paul comes home and talks to her. She giggles with the boys or when Razor comes up to her. Gracie is a good baby.

Which one of these boys does Gracie look more a like? Some family and friends say Wyatt. Some say Dean.

It's so weird in the photo with Wyatt she looks like him. but wow, in the photo with Dean she look like Dean. I will tell you one thing thank goodness she looks like both. I used to get asked if they had different dads all the time.

These boys love baths as you can see. I don't know how they do it, they get water every where.

We drove 2 hours southeast to a mountain in the middle of nowhere.

We had a great time. the weather was nice during the day, but at night, wow, it got cold. I think we all agree that we want to do this event again, and we'll stay a little longer.

We have been having so much fun with field day and the school carnival. Wyatt and Dean played games, road on rides, ate snow cones and cake, got toys. At field day they got to do relay races, craft and have a hot dog roast. They did a treasure hunt and got a goodie bag with cool glass in it. They had lots of fun.

Gracie loves cookies. She sucks on them until they are all gone. If you try to take it away she gets mad. Grandma G was eating one and holding Gracie. Gracie was trying every thing she could to get her hands on Grandma's cookie. Grandma didn't know Gracie could be a cookie monster.

What it's our Anniversary?

With that title you would think it was Paul that forgot. Well it wasn't. Yesterday was our 9Th wedding anniversary and I forgot. I was telling Paul that I had a sewing class to go to. Paul was like "you know you're not going, don't you know what day it is." I really had no clue, totally forgot. oops. Paul brought home our favorite Chinese food, and some flowers. I made him his favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. We had family night and looked at our wedding album. That was it and it was perfect.

Wow, has 9 years really gone by. Somedays it feels like we were just married but mostly it feels like we have be married forever. I mean that in a "we both don't sleep through the night" good kind of way. Our wedding was a cold and warm spring day. We got married at the Timpanogas Temple in the morning with our family taking pictures in the freezing cold with a little snow. Then off to Mi Ranchito for a our wedding luncheon [it was really good]. I remember some of my family thought it was kind of trashy but changed their tune when they were eating good food, not the same old wedding buffet. After Paul and I, for some weird reason went two different ways, he went back to his mom's house and I went to our rental with my family. Then we meet up at the Bunglow in Pleasant Grove for our reception. We got up to the Bunglow for family photos and it turned into a warm sunny afternoon. It seemed like forever for us to stand in line and greet our friends and family. Then we cut the cake, I tried to eat some of our yummy food, but Paul made me greet more people for another hour. Then after we were done we drove to Wendy's in our wedding garb and got some take out and went back to our place and started our life together.
